Raúl Ávila is a Mexican-born theatre artist and filmmaker. Raúl has been able to tell stories not only in different mediums but also in different positions. They started their professional career as an actor in the critically-acclaimed play After Midnight written and directed by Maru Dueñas, both in the Mexico City production and the national tour. Raúl Ávila has also been seen both in TV and film in My Heart Is Yours and 600 Miles, respectively. More TV and film credits include The Fenway Memory Project, What Are You Up To? , Lupita.
As a theatre producer, Raúl has always been intrigued by telling stories that are bold and daring. Other producing credits are Constellations, Her, The Woman of my Life.
Raúl Ávila is the co-founder and co-Artistic Director of The Euphoria Theatre Project, a theatre company that focuses on highlighting stories of joy and resistance within the LGBTQIA community. Raúl will receive a B.F.A in Contemporary Theatre by spring 2021 and will dedicate their life to creating art that provokes and challenges while shedding light on the intersections of politics, gender, race, and sexuality.
